About this side gig…

When I was first approached to be a Beachbody coach, I was VERY skeptical.  While I loved the Beachbody workouts and was absolutely thrilled with the results I was getting, I didn’t think that I was qualified to be a coach.

My coach, Michelle, convinced me otherwise.  She told me that I have what it takes to change peoples’ lives.  I was rocking my workouts and a healthy lifestyle and I was sharing my story on social media.  Why not be a coach?

What really convinced me, though, was that I had been going through a “what is my purpose and what the hell am I doing with my life?” crisis and Michelle thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to get involved in an awesome community and help others become healthier.  At that point, I started thinking that perhaps I really could do it.

What worried me, however, was that I didn’t want to come across as yet another person on social media trying to sell a product.  I’m terrible at selling; one of my worst jobs in my life was being a telemarketer (I lasted a week).  But I decided that if I was going to do this, I was going to be genuine and honest and I was going to do everything in my power to not come across as sales-y.  For me, that meant trying some of the nutritional products that Beachbody had to offer because I wasn’t going to ask people to buy something that I hadn’t tried myself.

Up until then, I hadn’t tried Shakeology or the Performance supplements (pre- and post-workout).  I wasn’t sure if I wanted to invest the money and I thought I was doing just fine without them.  However, since I was going to get a discount on everything, I decided to go all in and try the products and that way I could give an honest review and if I didn’t feel like the products worked, I wasn’t going to feel good about selling them to others.

Right away, I fell in love with the pre-workout drink, Energize, and the post-workout, Recover.  I work out first thing in the morning and the Energize gives me just enough boost to get me going, and I also love that it hydrates me before my workouts.  The Recover is amazing and I’m completely convinced that I’m less sore after my workouts.  It also provides me the protein I need to feed my muscles.

And then there is the Shakeology.  It’s not cheap.  And once I researched it (and yes, I researched it!), I realized why. Because it’s made with high-quality, nutritious ingredients, including proteins, prebiotics, probiotics, digestive enzymes, adaptogens, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.  Basically, you get what you pay for, so with Shakeology, you’re getting excellent quality for a higher price.  I love fueling my body with healthy stuff, and I find that my cravings for junk food are less intense when I drink my Shakeology.  I realized that I would never hesitate to spend $4-$5 on a coffee drink at a coffee house, so instead I just spend money on a healthy superfood shake.  It’s a win in my book.

So at this point, I’m feeling good about what I’m doing.  I’m not involved with a company that I don’t believe in.  I don’t feel like I’m ripping people off.  I get nothing but encouragement and support from the Beachbody community.  Everyone is awesome!  All of things that I worried about didn’t turn out to be true at all.

It’s not just about the benefits that I’m getting for myself, though.  In the 10 months that I’ve been coaching, I’ve signed up people and have had the privilege of watching their lives transform.  It’s been such an amazing experience!  My husband and both of my daughters are becoming more healthier (watch out sons-in-law – I’m coming for you next!); I have friends who are becoming stronger and fitter and are excited about the workouts they are doing.  I have customers who absolutely love Shakeology and the other nutritional products and are seeing a big improvement in how they feel.  This original reason, the reason why my coach felt I would love doing this, is coming true.  I’m helping people get healthier.  I absolutely love it and I’m so happy that I decided to just go for it and give it a try.

This month, I’m giving one of the nutritional programs, Ultimate Portion Fix, a try so that I can share my experience with customers and others who need help with their food choices.  So far, I’m finding UPF easy to follow; I’m getting plenty to eat, and I’m not feeling restricted at all.  I’m rocking my workouts this week, so I know that I’m getting plenty of proper, nutritious food to fuel my workouts.  Stay tuned for the progress, along with a report on how my new workouts with the #mbf program are going!

I just want to say thanks to my coach, Michelle, and my oldest daughter, Haley, and my co-workers who convinced me to say yes because they thought I would be really good at this coaching thing.  And a special thanks to my husband, David, who has supported and encouraged me and was the first person to say, “Sign me up!”

If you’re ready to say, “Sign me up!” I’m ready to be there with you every step of the way!  Or if you’re interested in being a coach like me, I can help you with that, too!

May your glass always be full,
