Gratitude 8-19-18

First of all, I’m so grateful for all of the words of love and support that I received for my last two posts.  It’s a scary thing, putting yourself out there, being honest and sharing things about yourself that put you in a vulnerable place.  But if sharing these things makes a positive impact on even one person, then it’s definitely worth it!

I don’t want my blog to become a dark, emotional place, however.  In my everyday life, I’m a positive person and I want my blog to reflect the same bright outlook, but I also feel like it’s important to be honest.  My life isn’t perfect and I have my ups and downs like everyone else, so I feel like it’s important to keep it real.  I think that part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle is talking about feelings and not keeping stuff bottled up, and it’s definitely something that I continue to work on.  Opening up has never been my strong suit, but the older I get, the more I realize that opening up about my feelings is good for my body and soul.

Okay, let’s get to the more lighthearted stuff – things that I’m grateful for that bring me joy (besides the usual stuff like my family, friends, and good health!)

  1.  Trader Joe’s – We recently got a Trader Joe’s in our area and while I don’t shop there regularly, they have some specialty items that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else that I absolutely love!  The photo below is a recent haul of my favorites:

With the exception of the carrots, I can’t find these items anywhere else and I’m in love with all of them!

2.  The photos from my oldest daughter’s wedding.  Choosing just a few to hang on the wall is a decision that I’ve been putting off because I just can’t decide!  They are all so good!  Thank you to Marissa Kelly Photography for doing an amazing job!  And choosing a few to share here?  The struggle was real, but here are a few of my favorites:

3.  I finally got a new phone and maybe it seems shallow to be grateful for an object, but with as many photos that I take, I’m in love with my new Samsung Galaxy S9+!  It takes amazing pictures AND I have twice the storage space!

I’m off to enjoy another beautiful day – summer is another thing for which I’m truly grateful!  I hope you have a beautiful summer day where you’re at as well!

May your glass always be full,

  1. Oh! The photos are amazing! Congratulations to all! That “Everything but the bagel” seasoning looks right up my alley. I’ll have to look for it. Glad for your new phone. I’m with you. It’s the little things. 🙂 Have a great week.
