Hello and happy Monday!  I think that I’m in the majority when I say that weekends go by way too fast!  And then I spend the work week looking forward to the next upcoming weekend!  Are ya with me?

This weekend was a great one!  Although the temps were pretty warm (105 degrees with the heat index on Saturday – say what???), we still managed to spend a lot of time outdoors.  Yesterday the whole family came over so that we could have a belated birthday celebration for our grandson, who turned 7.  We spent the afternoon outside on the back patio, soaking up the sun, drinking cold beverages, eating snacks, and enjoying each other’s company!  Such a lovely day!

Of course, we had to have birthday cake!  I explored Pinterest to get some fun ideas for birthday cakes and decided to make this one:

It turned out great!  I rarely eat cake or candy these days, but I couldn’t resist trying a piece and it was delicious and worth the splurge!

All week I had been eating really clean and healthy, and so I didn’t feel one bit guilty about eating a piece of cake.  It’s all about balance, right?

Today I’m right back on track and looking forward to some healthy meals and exercise this week!
