Thanksgiving weekend

Hello, peeps!  It has been a very busy, but wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  It started the day before Thanksgiving with cleaning and getting a head start on cooking.  Check out the lovely rolls I baked:

Then my daughters and I went and got pedicures.  Man, I love pedicures!

Then Thanksgiving day brought on more cooking.  I prepared everything that I listed in this post and everything turned out to be delicious!

Tofurky, corn, stuffing, green bean casserole, Brussels sprouts salad, cranberries, mashed potatoes with gravy, roll and a glass of red wine. Get in my belly!

Everything was vegan and DELICIOUS!  My family had a turkey and a ham, but enjoyed all of the vegan sides that I made.  This was the first time that I had a Tofurky and I actually liked it!  It had the texture of ham and the rice stuffing was flavorful!  It was very easy to prepare as well.  My dad and stepmom came from Branson, Missouri to spend Thanksgiving with us and they really enjoyed the meal that I prepared.

Dessert was apple pie for the family, raw pecan pie for me:

It was delicious!

I’m so thankful that I was able to spend Thanksgiving with my husband, two daughters, as well as my dad and stepmom.  We had such a wonderful time together.  Last night, we also got to see some aunts, uncles, and cousins that we haven’t seen for a long time at my aunt and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary!  It was a great holiday weekend for family time.

It was also a weekend of overindulging with eating and drinking and so I’ll be glad to be back on track.  Although I got in a couple of runs, I still ate and drank way too many calories.

Can you relate to this, too?

Today is more family time with some Christmas shopping and the new Hunger Games movie and then it’s back to work and a normal routine tomorrow.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
